WHITSUNDAYS
INFORMATION PAGE |
In
1770 Captain James Cook sailed out of the blue and into a
sea passage surrounded by island jewels which he named in
honour of that calendar date - "The Whitsundays".
The view in 1770 had not changed for over 10000 years. Our
view today - 74 sundrenched islands, laced with coral reefs
rising out of the blue, clean waters of the Pacific - is still
as breathtaking and unspoiled as it was back then. |
